The Sakura trees in Kume Jima have already started to blooming. This years winter here in Okinawa has been very mild. Even the Sakura here in Okinawa are starting to bloom. I'm going to be going to Nakajin, and Nago on Friday to veiw the Sakura trees. Nago is having Sakura Matsuri on Jan 28 and 29 2006. Last year winter was colder here and Sakura Matsuri was in the middle of February.
